If you are receiving monthly Food Stamps (SNAP benefits or CalFresh) and live in the City of Pomona, check the requirements to get a new Guaranteed Income Program check.
Up to 250 parents or legal guardians aged 18 who live in the City of Pomona will take advantage of this free money in the United States. If you do not qualify for the paid group, you may join the control group. 350 applicants will get 20-dollar stipend payments for 1 year and a half.
ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS ON FOOD STAMPS COULD GET UP TO $9,000
Since these monthly payments in the City of Pomona will last for 18 months, the total amount will be $9,000. This program is known as Pomona Hug (Household Universal Grants Pilot Program).
For your information, June 17 will be the day when you can send your application for this Guaranteed Income Program if you are on Food Stamps or receive a different benefit like (SSI, WIC, TANF, etc).
If you need some time to prepare your application, remember that the deadline to apply for the Pomona Hug will be July 8th at 11:00 pm PST. 600 applicants will learn on July 10th if they have been chosen through the lottery process.
FOOD STAMPS & POMONA HUG AMOUNTS
Depending on your family size you can get more or less money from the SNAP or CalFresh Program. For example, if you are 8, you could get up to $1,751. Those who get an average payment and qualify for this check in the City of Pomona could receive $1,196 plus $500.
Therefore, it could be about $1,696. Recipients who get $1,751 could get up to $2,251. Single citizens on Food Stamps could receive up to $291. Besides, this additional check worth $500 will become $791.
A family of four can get up to $973 from the CalFresh or SNAP benefits program. Getting $500 extra from the Pomona HUG program would mean receiving up to $1,473.
