Most families with school-aged children who get CalFresh (SNAP), CalWORKs, Medi-Cal, or free or reduced-price meals at school qualify automatically. Children experiencing homelessness, in foster care, or attending Head Start also receive SUN Buck without having to apply.
Unlike SNAP benefits, it is not necessary to apply in most cases. However, some people may need to apply. Do not worry because there is plenty of time to do so before the deadline comes to an end.
