Economic Impact Payment, also known as stimulus checks may reach your bank account if you have recently filed for them. Some Americans have not received this free money from the IRS yet.
November may be the month when some taxpayers receive their stimulus checks. But the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) claims that “there’s still time to get payments”. Do so if you have not filed yet.
All you will have to do is file your tax return. In this way, you will receive your missed 2021 stimulus check payments. So, far, the IRS has issued the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Economic Impact Payments. Check your eligibility to receive some free money.
Who can be eligible for the IRS stimulus check?
The IRS warns that there are two possibilities to claim a payment. For example, you could claim it if you did not receive the full third payment. Another possibility is that you did not receive the full first and second payments.
Therefore, if you would like to claim the 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit, you may be eligible if you got less than the full amount or if you did not qualify for the third stimulus check.
In order to claim this stimulus check, you will have to file a tax return to do so. Those who never file a return and may be eligible must also file one. Bear in mind that this credit is based on your information from the tax year 2021.
The good thing about these stimulus checks is the fact that they can reduce any amount of money you owe in taxes to the IRS. If you do not owe any money, you will then receive a refund and it will include it.
How much money could I get from the IRS if I qualify for a stimulus check?
If you are a U.S. citizen, or U.S. resident alien, are not a dependent on a taxpayer and your adjusted gross income is up to $150,000 (joint filers), $75,000 (single filers) you could get up to $2,800.
That is the maximum amount for married couples who receive the third economic impact payment. However, if you are a single filer, the maximum amount could be up to $1,400. Those families with a qualifying dependent may get $1,400 extra.
For your information, they must have a valid Social Security number. An Adoption Taxpayer Identification Number is also possible as long as the IRS has issued it.
If you do not qualify for this stimulus check, make sure you follow the rebates in your state. For example, you can still claim some money in Washington and in New Mexico.
