The Social Security Administration (SSA) has confirmed payments worth $3,033 for eligible seniors. The checks can arrive on January 10, but there are two other different paydays.
For example, you may also receive your Social Security payment in one or even two weeks. Usually, there are 4 different checks each month for those seniors on retirement benefits.
Do not forget that even if you have worked for many years and have reached the age to retire, you must file to get Social Security retirement benefits. If you did not begin receiving retirement checks before May 1997, this payment may be yours.
WHO CAN GET $3,033 IN JANUARY FROM SOCIAL SECURITY?
According to the Social Security Administration, aged couples who are both receiving benefits can get about $3,033 on average in January. Bear in mind that this is a new amount after the COLA increase.
Thanks to the 3.2% COLA boost, couples who are both receiving SSA retirement benefits can collect about $94 extra per month. In just one year they can get a total of $1,128 extra per month.
So, if you are an aged couple with an average Social Security check, you may get your money on January 10. Some seniors received their January payment on January 3, but there are three more checks after that one.
If you are about to file for retirement benefits, make sure you know the expected and hidden costs of retirement. Download your Social Security statement and see the possible amounts at different ages.
WHEN CAN ELIGIBLE SENIOR COUPLES GET THEIR 3,033-DOLLAR CHECK?
Apart from January 10, Social Security retirement checks can arrive on January 17 or January 24. The day when you can collect your money will depend on your birthday.
Of course, if you received benefits before May 1997, you do not qualify for the round of Wednesday payments. Do not forget that this group of seniors cash their payments on the second, third, or fourth Wednesday in January.
To get a retirement payment on January 10, your birthday must be from 1-10. If it is from 11-20, you can receive it on the 17th. Those seniors whose birth date is from 21-31 can have their money in their bank account on January 24.
There are many seniors who do not know that they can get money from Supplemental Security Income (SSI) even if they are on retirement benefits. This is possible if you are on a low income and are at least 65 years old. Apply now if you cannot make ends meet.
