The Social Security Administration (SSA) will not send a check until March 13. Therefore, those born between the first and the tenth of any month cannot receive their money until March 13.
That is the reason why there are no Social Security benefits this week. The SSA payment schedule reveals that benefits will start on the second Wednesday of the month.
After March 13, there will be two more Social Security payments. Actually, the next one will be on March 20, which is the third Wednesday in March. To get it your birthday must be from the 11th to the 20th.
SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT ON MARCH 27
Eligible beneficiaries can receive their retirement or disability benefits on March 27 if their birth date goes from 21-31. Bear in mid that these Wednesday rounds of payments are for those on benefits from May 1997 onward.
If you are on Social Security before May 1997, your payment was due on March 1 and the next one will be due on April 3. Those on SSI and Social Security at the same time will also receive their next payment on April 3.
As you may have guessed, retirement and SSDI payments are due on the same days. So retirees and people on disability benefits can get their checks on the same day if eligible.
CHECKS WORTH $4,873 IN MARCH 2024
Retirees who have been high earners and filed at 70 after working for 35 years can get up to $4,873. Filing at Full Retirement Age can provide you with a Social Security payment of up to $3,822.
At the age of 62, retirees can get up to $2,710 on any of the March 13, 20, or 27 payments. However, if you have never been a high earner, you can receive an average check of about $1,909.
SSDI recipients’ average payment is about $1,537. The maximum disability benefit amount is $3,822. Expect a lower check if your salary as a worker was low and you work for just 10 years.
WHAT IS THE PAYMENT SCHEDULE FOR SSI RECIPIENTS?
SSI is the Supplemental Security Income. This benefit has already been sent on March 1, 2024. Therefore, the next SSI payments will be due on April 1 and May 1, 2024. Unlike Social Security, there is just one single payday.
Bear in mind that there are only over 5 million recipients on SSI. Social Security scheduled these payments, but they are not a Social Security program. The federal Government funds SSI.
While workers pay payroll taxes to Social Security, the pay retirement and disability benefits to current beneficiaries. As for the SSI amounts in April 2024, the maximum benefits are $943 (single) or $1,415 (married).
