A new Social Security payment from the Administration is about to be issued. The United States Government confirms it through the Agency. Bear in mind that only eligible retirees will get money from the Administration. If you have not received your check or direct deposit and you do not qualify, you may get your money next week.
The good news is that this monthly payment may also be for Social Security Disability Insurance recipients. Of course, the largest payment for eligible SSDI recipients will be up to $3,822, but not $4,873. In general, Disability Insurance payments tend to be much higher because a disability prevents most workers from increasing their payment amount.
Date and eligibility for the next Social Security check
Those retirees who:
- did not begin collecting Social Security payments before May 1997, and
- are not collecting Supplemental Security Income, and
- remain eligible
In fact, they will receive their retirement benefit payment of up to $4,873 on December 11, 2024. Do not forget that to cash this check on December 11 you must have been born from the first to the tenth, regardless of the month or year.
Who will receive $4,873 from Social Security?
The Administration will issue retirement benefits payments worth $1,927 on average in December 2024. Therefore, this will be the average amount for the December 11 payment.
However, if you had a larger than average payment as a worker for more than 35 years, you may receive a lot more. Those who have worked for 35 years and earned the taxable maximum all those years in jobs covered by Social Security and filed at 70 can get up to $4,873.
Those who filed at 62 can get up to $2,710 and at Full Retirement Age up to $3,822. As you may have guessed, this is very unlikely. So, it is more than likely that your amount is closer to an average payment. For your information, if your payment is too low, you can apply for SSI too. Other retirement checks will be issued on December 18 and 24, 2024.
