The figure of the bank is something elementary nowadays in any type of society. And in the United States, for various reasons, this type of entity is very important, since it is present in a large number of events throughout the American territory. That is why it is so strange to see that banks are closing so many branches in all States.
But the reason for this decision is much simpler than it seems. The problem comes from the irruption of the use of the Internet to access most of this kind of media. If before it was mandatory to go to a bank branch to open a personal account, now just having a smartphone is more than enough. And this is what is causing us to find ourselves with branch closures.
There are few other reasons to think about this branch closure, although it is true that banks also want to cut costs. Each branch that goes out of business saves the bank a lot of money not only in salaries, but in rent and other monthly expenses. If the business is not profitable in that particular branch, the logical thing to do is to close it.
Although all indications are that there is no turning back from bank closings across the United States, some Americans are holding out hope. Especially those Americans who do not have direct access to the Internet or who are not very fond of new technologies as a Social Security retirement users. In this sense we can say that the closure of banks can be a great disadvantage for many Americans, especially the elderly.
WHICH BANK IS CLOSING SOON?
To tell the truth, there is not one bank closing outright, but branches of several companies. Specifically, branches of Wells Fargo and Bank of America will soon be closing. These two banks are among the strongest ones in the United States, but they have not been able to avoid closing these branches due to lack of profitability.
These are the Wells Fargo branches that will be closing soon:
- Alabama. 4394 Main Street, Pinson
- Arizona. 2745 West Carefree Highway, Phoenix
- California. 1071 El Camino Real, Redwood City and 42420 Washington Ave.
- Florida. 555 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach
- Georgia. 3298 Highway 5, Douglasville
- Iowa. 4505 Douglas Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa.
- Nevada. 4045 South Virginia Street, Reno and 2301 North 48th Street, Lincoln, New Mexico.
- New Mexico. 970 Bosque Farm Boulevard, Bosque Farms and 1275 Country Club Road, Santa Teresa, Santa Teresa, Oregon.
- Oregon. 110 NE Roberts Avenue, Gresham
- Pennsylvania. 1886 Bethelehem Pike, Flourtown
- Texas. 1420 West Mockingbird Lane, Dallas
- Washington. 1527 Highlands Drive, Issaquah
As for Bank of America, the list of branches that will be closing soon is as follows. At this company only in the State of California there will be closures for the time being:
- 2925 Scott Blvd, Santa Clara
- 200 Cochrane Plaza
- 1275 Fell St, San Francisco
- 3491 McKee Rd, San Jose
- 1400 Moraga Way, Moraga
- 2049 Century Park East, Los Angeles
So from then on at those branches it will be impossible to do any kind of business, as they will be closed. The rest of the branches of these banks are still open for the time being. About the payments that we should get as Social Security payments or Stimulus checks there is nothing to worry about. We will continue getting them, but we will have to do everything online.
