The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is sending checks worth up to $1,155 for a five-member family. Three are the States that will send Food Stamps through March 13.
Arkansas is one of the States that is sending all SNAP benefits through March 13. Arizona and Minnesota will do exactly the same. However, the way Food Stamps are sent may be different.
USDA funds SNAP benefits through the Food and Nutrition Service. But States can administer payment dates and applications. For example, Alaska only sends benefits on the first day of the month.
WHO CAN GET $1,155 FROM SNAP IN ARKANSAS, ARIZONA AND MINNESOTA?
Needy families with 5 members who have no money and no resources may get $1,155 in SNAP benefits. Nevertheless, if you have earnings or savings, you may get a smaller amount.
Other families can get more or less money depending on their situation. For example, if you are just 4 members the maximum benefit is $973, or $766 if you are 3.
Single beneficiaries can get up to $291 in the 48 contiguous States and the District of Columbia. So Arizona, Arkansas, and Minnesota also have the same maximum amounts. The largest SNAP check will be for a family of 8 with up to $1,751.
FOOD STAMPS ELIGIBILITY AND PAYDAYS
Arizona uses the first letter of the SNAP beneficiaries’ last name.
- O-P: payday on March 8
- Q-R: payday on March 9
- S-T: payday on March 10
- U-V: payday on March 11
- W-X: payday on March 12
- Y-Z: payday on March 13
On the contrary, Arkansas uses the last Social Security Number. So if your SSN ends in 4, your payday will be on March 8.

- SSN ends in 7: payday on March 11
- SSN ends in 8: payday on March 12
- SSN ends in 9: payday on March 13
Minnesota uses the SNAP case number instead.
