The most important requirement to receive a Social Security payment this week will be the date you were born. If you qualify for retirement benefit payments but you have not collected your payment in November, here is your next payday. In fact, it is more than likely that you qualify for a payment on November 27, the last payday this month.
The Social Security check or direct deposit on the 27 is for those retirees whose birthday is from the 21st to the 31st and it does not matter the month you were born in. It will not be your payday if you are on SSI or got benefits before May 1997.
How much will Social Security recipients get on Nov. 27?
The amount each Social Security beneficiary receives is different. This is because not all retired workers have the same work history. So, your payment amount depends on:
- the age you file
- the earnings you had as a worker
- the jobs you had and if they were covered by SSA
- the number of years you worked
However, it is possible to know the average amount. It is about $1,924 as of October 2024. Some retirees can get up to $2,710 if they filed at 62. Those seniors who filed at Full Retirement Age can get up to $3,822. When you reach 70, the largest benefit payment will be up to $4,873 in 2024.
Social Security payments after Nov. 27
If you do not qualify for a retirement benefit payment on November 27 because you got a previous check or deposit, here are the possible upcoming paydays for retirees.
Actually, Social Security’s payment schedule confirms the next payment after Nov. 27 on December 3. To get it, you must have been receiving benefits since before May 1997 or to also be on SSI.
Bear in mind that the December payment for SSI will be issued on November 29, 2024. It will be sent ahead of schedule to avoid delays because SSA offices are closed on December 1, 2024. December 11, 18 and 24 will be the Wednesday rounds of payment for other eligible retirees.
