SSDI payment eligibility for August and September

Only one group of Social Security Disability Insurance recipients will receive their monthly SSDI payment in the U.S. this week. But what is the exact date of this payday?

Social Security has scheduled the next SSDI payment for August 28, 2024. Therefore, only those born after the 20th qualify if they do not receive SSI and they got benefits after April 30, 1997.

Not eligible for SSDI on August 28?

Some citizens may not receive Social Security Disability Insurance payment on August 28. However, they received their money on August 2, 14, or 21. Hence, they will have to wait until September to get their new direct deposit or check.

Do not forget that if you qualify for SSDI is because you have a qualifying disability and you have worked for the minimum number of years. Report any health improvements to SSA since it could affect your eligibility and you can avoid overpayments.

SSDI payment amounts for August 28, September 3, 11, 18, and 25

The maximum amount for Social Security Disability Insurance will be $3,822. Nevertheless, the maximum payment is only for a small percentage of disability recipients.

This is because their disability has not allowed them to file later. The fewer number of years you have worked, the lower your payment will be. On average, SSDI payments can be just $1,538 as of July 2024.

SSDI recipients whose benefit payment is too low may also qualify for Supplemental Security Income. SSI payment dates are usually on the 1st of each month. But not in September since it is Sunday and it will be delivered on August 30, 2024. An SSI recipient can receive $695 on average and up to $973 for individuals.
