Learn when your State is sending SNAP or Food Stamps

USDA has confirmed that Florida and Texas will send SNAP benefits to EBT cards on August 28, 2024. (Their payments in September will go from Sept. 1-28.) These will be the last Food Stamp payments before September comes.

However, up to 46 States will not send money to SNAP EBT cards until September 1. States like Alaska, Vermont, Rhode Island, and North Dakota will send all the payments on the 1st. Others will deliver payments throughout the month.

Here are the States that will start sending SNAP benefits either on September 1st or later in the month. For example, South Dakota sends these benefits on September 10, 2024.

U.S. territories and the District of Columbia sending SNAP

Apart from the 48 contiguous States, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia will also send SNAP in early September.

The maximum SNAP payment amount in the 48 contiguous States will be $1,751 for a family of 8. If you are 4, it can be up to $973. An individual can receive from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program up to $291. The new 2025 COLA will come into effect on October 1.
