The first round of Social Security payments of up to $4,873 will be issued on November 1, 2024. For your information, if you got benefits after April 30, 1997, you will not qualify for the November 1 payment unless you are also an SSI recipient while on retirement benefits.
If you began getting payments after April 30, 1997, you could be eligible for only one of the payments from November 13 onward. It will depend on your birth date when you can receive your money from Social Security.
Social Security payment dates: Nov. 13, 20 or 27
The last 3 Social Security paydays will be for those who are in retirement but do not qualify for the direct deposit or check on Nov. 1. November 13 will be your payday if you were born before the 11th and it does not matter the year or month you were born.
If your birthday is after the 10th but before the 21st, your payment date will be November 20, 2024. The third round of Wednesday payments for Social Security recipients will be on the 27th.
Those retirees who receive money from the Agency on the 27th must have been born from the 21st to the 31st. None of these payments will include the 2025 COLA increase. It will boost payment by about 2.5% in January 2025.
