Millions of Americans will receive a payment of up to $943 in just 5 days. Of course, this will only be possible if you are one of the 7.5 million SSI recipients in the United States.
If you have never filed for the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program and got approval, you will not qualify. What is more, these monthly payments could be higher but only if you are an eligible married couple.
All SSI recipients will share the same payment date
For your information, the SSI program only has one payment date per month. That means you can only receive 12 checks or direct deposits per year. So, there are not bonuses or extra checks.
As a matter of fact, the next SSI payment will be issued on November 1, right after Halloween. The thing is the Social Security Administration has scheduled another payday for November.
So, you will receive the payment of up to $943 for December on November 29. Therefore, all SSI recipients who remain eligible will collect their check or deposit 2 days in advance.
Requirements to receive the SSI payments on November 1 and 29
Those who have filed and gotten approval must meet 4 requirements. Bear in mind that remaining eligible is mandatory or you will have to pay back any money to the Federal government if overpayment takes place. Recipients must:
- have filed
- have a low income
- have little or no resources
- meet one of these 3 conditions:
- be blind
- have a disability
- be at least 65 years old
The maximum amount for an essential person will be $472 until November 29. On December 31, all the SSI direct deposits and checks will include the 2025 COLA increase. So, an essential person will get up to $484 on Dec. 31, 2024.
Individuals will get up to $943 on Nov. 1 and 29, and up to $967 after the 2025 COLA on Dec. 31, 2024. Eligible married couples will get up to $1,415 on Nov. 1 and 29 and up to $1,450 after the COLA boost on Dec. 31, 2024.
