62-year-olds and older to get a payment worth $1,909 on February 21 if eligible

If you are in retirement and you have not collected your payment yet, there are two possible paydays for seniors aged 62 or older in the USA

A new payment is on the way for some retirement beneficiaries, February 21 is the date you should save

A new payment will be like a breath of fresh air for millions of retirees. Soaring prices and inflation have made it difficult for them to make ends meet. To get this new check, you must meet 2 requirements though.

Social Security will send a new payment if your birthday is from 11-20. Besides, you must have received benefits from May 1997. If you collected checks before May 1997, your next payday will be March 1, 2024.

For example, if you began getting Social Security payments in 1999 and your birthday is on the 22nd, February 21 will be your payday. If you have never filed for Social Security, you cannot receive this check.

WHO CAN RECEIVE $1,909 ON FEBRUARY 21?

Retirees aged 62 years old or older who qualify for an average check can receive this payment. Do not forget you must have started getting Social Security, but not before May 1997. As for your birthday, it must fall from 11-20.

February 21 will not be the only day when retirees aged 62 or older can receive a new payment in the USA

But what if you do not qualify for an average payment? It is true that some retirees aged 62 years old or older may get less money. This happens when seniors have not worked for at least 35 years, had a low salary, and filed early.

Those who have worked for 35 years and have earned the taxable maximum, may get the maximum benefit if they file at 70. They could get up to $4,873 in 2024.

Filing at Full Retirement Age can give you up to $3,822. If you are 62, the maximum benefit you could get is $2,710, But these maximum amounts are something unattainable for most Americans.

UPCOMING PAYMENT DATES

If you do not qualify for the February 21 payment, you may wonder if you can get the next one. The last check in February will be on the 28th. But once more, you must meet 2 conditions to qualify.

First of all, you must have gotten Social Security after or in May 1997. What is more, your birth date must be from the 21st to the 31st. Then, if you meet these requirements, this check worth $1,909 will be yours.

March will have just 4 paydays for 5 different payments. SSI will be due on March 1. Retirees will get their check on March 1 if they got benefits before May 1997. March 13, 20, and 27 will be the other paydays.
