Eligible Pennsylvanians can take advantage of this fantastic check. It is through the Department of Revenue in this State that you can apply for a new Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program payment.

So far, there are three ways to submit your application for this tax rebate check. The easiest and fastest one will be online. However, if you are not good at technology, do it in person or by mail.

TAX REBATE CHECK AMOUNTS IN PENNSYLVANIA

If you are a renter or homeowner in Pennsylvania, there are age and income requirements. If you are at least 65, 18 or older with a disability or widow/er and your household income is below 45,000 dollars, you may be eligible.

Although some eligible applicants may get up to $1,000, others may not get so much. For example, if your household income is between $0 and $8,000, you can get the maximum amount, $1,000.

If it is between $8,001 and $15,000, it could be up to $770. The third possibility is to get $460 if your income is between $15,001 and $18,000. The smallest check is worth $380 for those whose income is $18,001-$45,000. Some applicants in Philadelphia, Scranton, and Pittsburgh may receive a supplemental rebate.

In this way, if eligible they could get an additional $190-$500. However, this is only for needy applicants. Actually, if you are a property owner and your income is $30,000 or less and your property taxes are over 15% of your income you may qualify for the supplement.

HOW CAN I TRACK THE STATUS OF MY TAX REBATE IN PENNSYLVANIA?

Although the Department of Revenue in Pennsylvania allows taxpayers to check their status by phone, you can have a look at it online. Do not forget to have with you your Social Security Number when you check it.

Those who do not have Internet access can simply call the Department of Revenue at 1-888-PATAXES (728-2937). Beware of scammers, never give someone you do not know your bank account information. Do not forget that those who applied for last year’s tax rebate should re-apply for the new check.

The important dates are: April, since you get a call to inform you they got your application. In June they will call you to confirm you are eligible and they approved your application. July 1 they issue the rebates and you can apply until June 30, 2024.
