The Social Security Administration has recently announced the average payments for SSI recipients. To get an average of $745 you must be aged 18 to 64 years old. Of course, some 18-64-year-olds will receive the largest payment amount available for this Federal payment. In fact, it could be up to $943 in 2024. However, if you are receiving other benefit payments, you may qualify for a lower payment due to reductions applied.
The good thing about the next SSI payment in November is that it will be the only payday for all eligible recipients. Retirees and SSDI recipients have different paydays. However, the Supplemental Security Income shares the payday for all beneficiaries regardless of filing date or birthday.
Why will there be a new SSI payment of $745 in November?
Actually, the Social Security Administration had to change the December 1 payday for SSI because it falls on Sunday. Therefore, it will be issued on the previous business day to avoid waiting.
Sending an SSI check on Sunday will not be possible because both SSA’s offices and banks will be closed. So, sending the money to these recipients on time is essential since they have a low income.
If you are aged 65 years old or older, your average payment will be about $576. It could be much higher if you are aged under 18 since it could be about $803. None of the late November checks will bring the 2025 COLA increase.
When is the exact date of the SSI check?
The new date for the SSI payment for December 1 will be November 29, 2024. To get money on this date you must have a low income, little or no resources, and then meet one of the following conditions.
Having a qualifying disability, being at least 65 years old, or being blind. Hence, those who have applied and gotten approval, and have not lost their eligibility, will get money from the Federal Government on November 29, 2024.
Another big change coming for December will be the 2025 COLA increase. Even if you receive your payment for December in November, there will be another payday on December 31, 2024. This will be when Social Security will deliver the SSI check for January 1, 2025.
