The Internal Revenue Service has informed that some Americans who do not usually file for taxes can still claim stimulus checks. Not only can they claim their Recovery Rebate Credit, but they can also apply for the Child Tax Credit.
The new tax credit for Washington working families is still available. While some taxpayers may have already filed, others may have completely forgotten about it. If you have not heard about the Working Families Tax Credit, it is time to learn more about this stimulus check payment.
Bear in mind that the maximum refund will be $1,200, which is not bad if you are running out of money. Of course, you must meet all the requirements. One of them is being a resident of Washington.
STIMULUS CHECKS ELIGIBILITY IN WASHINGTON
If you lived in Washington for at least 183 days, you meet the first requirement. However, this will not be enough. Your age is another key condition. If you were between the ages of 25 and 65 in 2022 you can still apply.
Having a qualifying child in 2022 can also make you eligible. What is more, you must have filed your Washington Individual Tax Return for the year 2022. If not, you can forget about these stimulus checks and their payments of up to $1,200.
Remember you must also have an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number or Social Security Number. If you filed, you must have needed one of the two to get your 2022 tax refund. Requirements are not over yet, because you must be eligible for the Federal Income Tax Credit on your tax return for 2022.
Income requirements will also apply for these stimulus checks. For example, income thresholds are $16,480 (single and no children) and $53,057 (single with 3 children). Married couple’s thresholds range from $22,610-$59,187.
WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT AMOUNTS FOR THE TAX CREDIT IN WASHINGTON?
If you qualify for these stimulus checks, but you do not have any children, you can get up to $300. Those families that are eligible and have 1 child can get up to $600. A family with 2 children can receive up to $900.
