Millions of Americans are saving money to spend on Black Friday, whether they are on Social Security retirement, disability, or SSI payments. Checks will be issued according to the Agency’s payment schedule till November 29, 2024.

Therefore, there will be a payment on Black Friday. The thing is this payment is only for 7.5 million Americans who are receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

Why is there an SSI payment on November 29, 2024? Social Security explains it

The last payment in November will be on the 29th because December 1 is Sunday. All financial institutions, banks, and SSA’s offices will be closed. So, it will be necessary to send the payment 48 hours in advance.

Bear in mind that this will be the second time the Social Security Administration will issue an SSI payment in November. SSI will be issued on November 1 and then on November 29 (for December).

Remember to save the money you get on November 29 for December. This is not a bonus and it is not an extra payment from the Federal government either. So, spend it wisely.

Will the November 1 payments and the SSI check on Black Friday include Social Security’s COLA increase?

None of the November SSI payments will include the 2025 COLA increase. Therefore, all eligible recipients will have to wait until December 31 to get the COLA boost if they are on Supplemental Security Income.

Or if you are on Social Security, January 3, 8, 15, and 22 will be the 4 paydays to get the payments with the 2025 COLA increase. Do not forget that to get SSI you must remain eligible.

Report any income and resource changes you may have experienced because it could result in an overpayment. The maximum amounts for SSI in November will be:
