SSI payments are only for those citizens who have a low income. Therefore, it is restricted to a very specific group of Americans. Do not forget that Social Security can send retirement checks of up to $4,873. So, these recipients can never get SSI with such large payment amounts.

It will depend on the work history of each recipient. Therefore, there can be large payment amounts or small ones. For example, the average retirement benefit is worth $1,915.

Probably, those who receive SSI at the same time get a lower retirement benefit amount. SSDI can be on average $1,537. If you are on SSI, the average payment for those aged 65 or older can be about $574.

Those aged 18-64 can receive about $743 from SSI. As for the payday, July 1 will be when over 7.5 million Americans will get SSI.
