The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced the next COLA increase for SNAP benefits in the 48 contiguous States, the District of Columbia, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Alaska.
The last three receive much higher payments due to a higher cost of living in these areas. Hawaii will not receive a SNAP COLA increase so, it will be the only State that will obtain a reduction. But when will the new COLA come into effect?
Maximum SNAP amounts after the 2025 COLA
October 1 will be the day when Food Stamp recipients will start to receive the boost in their monthly payments. If you qualify for any of the paydays on October 1, check your EBT tomorrow to see how much your benefit has increased in the 48 contiguous States and D.C.
The thing is the increase is very small, so SNAP recipients may not be able to tell a big difference between the September and October payments. Still, it is better than the reduction in Hawaii.
SNAP payment schedule for October
Depending on the State or U.S. territory where you live, you may receive your SNAP payment on a different payday. Some States will send all the payments on October 1, but others can take up to 28 days, like in Florida and Texas.
