What is the main requirement to cash a stimulus check payment in New Mexico?
These new tax rebates in New Mexico are tied to the 2021 tax returns in this State. In order to qualify, you must have filed your 2021 tax return, and the deadline to do so is May 31, 2024.
Most taxpayers in New Mexico must have received their payments so far. So the sooner you file, the better for your financial situation. Bear in mind that the maximum amounts are $1,000 for joint filers and $500 for single filers. Apart from filing, there is no need to apply for this stimulus check.
What is more, some beneficiaries may qualify for a direct deposit in other states. However, not all of them have the possibility to apply since the deadline is over. For example, Virginia offers a tax rebate payment worth up to $400 but you must have filed your 2022 tax return before November 1, 2023.
The stimulus check in Virginia will arrive by November 30. So, you may receive it this week if you filed on time. Another payment will be soon on the way for Alabamians. Payments are worth up to $300.
When will the stimulus check in Alabama be issued?
According to Governor Kay Ivey, one-time tax rebates will be on the way starting December 1, 2023. Do not forget that this free money is only for those taxpayers who have filed their 2021 tax return. What is more, you can’t have been claimed as dependent on that return. The deadline to file was October 17, 2022.
So there is nothing you can do if you did not submit it on time. Washington also offers a stimulus check for working families. It is worth up to $1,200 and the deadline to apply is December 31, 2023. Alaska will send another PFD check on December 14, the one on November was on the 16th.
