Social Security will send the next SSDI disability check to eligible beneficiaries on November 22

Some disability beneficiaries have just received a payment from Social Security. If you are on SSDI, there are four possible paydays every month. Therefore, not all recipients cash a check on the same day.

For example, the are 4 SSDI payments. The one on November 3 was for those on Social Security before May 1997. The rest of the Social Security Disability Insurance money arrives depending on your birth date.

The earlier your birthday is in the month, the earlier you will receive your SSDI check. Bear in mind that the last payment in November will not be for those disability benefits recipients whose birthday is from the 1st to the 20th of the month.

Who can collect the SSDI disability payment on November 22?

Therefore, the next SSDI check will only be for those beneficiaries whose birthday is from the 21st to the 31st of the month. Undoubtedly, you must have received benefits from May 1997 onward, but not before.

If you know someone who is on retirement benefits, it will also be the same payday if you meet all the aforementioned requirements. The SSDI check on November 22 will not include the 2024 COLA boost though.

Then, disability beneficiaries will have to wait until January if they are on SSDI. Supplemental Security Income recipients do not have to wait until January to receive their new increase of 3.2%.

On December 29, SSI will bring the new COLA increase. This advance payment from January will give more money to those who qualify for this benefit for people with a disability.

How much can I receive on the November 22 payment?

If you are on SSDI, the maximum amount is $3,627. Nevertheless, very few beneficiaries qualify for that large payment. In order to collect it you must have earned the taxable maximum for at least 35 years. So, it is limited to high earners.

The most common amount may be closer to the average payment, which is less than $1,500 per month. As of September 2023, the average SSDI check is about $1,486. Anyway, each person on this disability benefit may receive a different amount.

If your payment is too low, do not doubt about applying for Supplemental Security Income. This can give you up to $914 per month and up to 943 dollars in 2023. Couples who are both eligible may receive up to $1,371 in 2023 or $1,415 in 2024.

Another possibility is to send an application for the SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). This will give you checks of up to 291 dollars for a single person to buy healthy food.
