In just a few hours the last of the Social Security disability benefit checks in the United States will leave the Administration for the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. Since this is the last payment for the month of November, the rest of the beneficiaries should already have the money in their pockets.
Even so, in order to get a check for this day it is mandatory to meet the requirements. Each payment day has different requirements that Social Security beneficiaries must meet. So if you meet the conditions you will be able to get this payment. If not, you may have to claim the benefit.
Since this is the last of the November disability retirement checks, the rest of the payments should already be in the bank accounts of the respective beneficiaries. But since Social Security payments can sometimes be delayed for a variety of reasons, some beneficiaries may not have checks yet.
The advice is to check if we are within the group that will get the payment within a few hours. If not, we should then make a claim for the late payment, since the payment will have been in the previous checks.
WHO GETS THE LAST DISABILITY BENEFIT PAYMENT?
The new and final disability payment for the month of November will arrive in just a few hours. To be exact, this payment will be on the 22nd day of November. And there will be no new payments this month after this mailing.
To be eligible for this payment, two requirements are mandatory. Without these two requirements, the payment will not reach our bank account. These are the two conditions:
- Have a Social Security benefit (whether for disability or some other reason) since after 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
And there are no other mandatory requirements. Fulfilling these two conditions is enough for the Administration to send us the check. Remember that it doesn’t matter if we have a disability payment, an old age retirement payment or any other reason.
It is also good to remember that we will not get the payment immediately without Direct Deposit. November 22nd is the day the check is mailed, but that does not mean we will get the money on that same day. It is mandatory to activate Direct Deposit in order to get this payment when the Administration sends it.
UPCOMING SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENTS IN DECEMBER
After the payment on the 22nd day of November we will have to wait until December to cash a new retirement check. In addition, in this last month of the year there are several irregularities that make the payments arrive even later for certain groups.
December 1st will be the day for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments and for pre-1997 retirees. This payment is earlier because December 3rd is a weekend.
On the other hand, we have to wait until the third week of the month to start getting a disability check if we have a payment after 1997. The days for these groups are December 13th, 20th and 27th.
Finally, on the 29th day of December, the SSI for the month of January 2024 will arrive. This payment will have the COLA already added, which will make the maximum for this benefit not $914 but $943.
