If you are on disability benefits, you may not have received your SSDI payments yet. In fact, only those who were on Social Security before May 1997 receive them on April 3.

Americans who are on SSDI and were born from 1-10 of any month will get a new payment on April 10. Do not forget that it can take up to three mailing days if you get a paper check.

April 17 will be your payday if you started collecting SSDI after April 30, 1997, and your birthday is from 11-20. The last disability benefits will be for those whose birth date is from 21-31.

SSDI CAN BE UP TO $3,822 IN APRIL

The largest Social Security Disability Insurance for 2024 is $3,822, so that is the maximum amount for April as well. Most beneficiaries may just collect a payment of about $1,536.

Thanks to the latest COLA boost, benefits have gone up. Unfortunately, many workers did not have time to pay enough taxes to Social Security. Thus, there SSDI checks are too low.

If that is your case, you can apply for SSI and SNAP benefits at the same time. In this way, you will receive additional money while you are on SSDI. Having a qualifying disability and having paid enough taxes are the main requirements to collect Disability Insurance.
