These SSDI benefits are for those who have been on benefits after April 30, 1997. So the birthday and filing date are essential to receive disability benefits from Social Security.

When it comes to amounts, it will depend on your work and earnings history. The longer you worked and the more payroll taxes you paid the better. Disability Benefits can be up to $3,822. Average payments are about $1,536 as of February 2024.

If you are on SSDI, but you did not qualify for any of the previous paydays, April 24 must be your payment date. It will be for those on benefits from or after May 1997, but not before.
