The Administration has clearly stated that the first payment on the second Wednesday of November is only for those whose birthday is from the 1st to the 10. The third Wednesday payment if it is from the 11th to the 20th.

Do not forget that this payment is only for those who started receiving Social Security disability benefits from May 1997 onward. If you received SSDI payments before May 1997, your payday is a different one.

Those who filed for Social Security before the previously mentioned date received their monthly check on October 3. So, they will not collect their next payment until November 3, 2023.

HOW MUCH CAN I RECEIVE IF I AM ON DISABILITY BENEFITS AND GET THE NOVEMBER 8 CHECK?

Social Security Disability Insurance only sends payments if you have worked and paid taxes to Social Security for some time. Hence, payments may not be the same for most beneficiaries.

What is true, is the fact that as of September 2023, SSA published average payments. For example, if you are a worker on SSI, your average check could be about $1,486 in the November 8 payment.

As for the maximum amount in 2023, checks can be up to $3,627. Since most people who have a disability may have it way before retirement, they may not have had time to work for long.

Then, disability benefits payment may not be so high. This is just like retirement, the earlier you file, the smaller your check will be. In fact, for retirement, you need 40 Social Security credits.

For disability benefits, the amount of work credits you need may be lower. But it will depend on the age of the person when their disability started. The November 8 payment for SSDI will not bring the 2024 COLA increase.

Social Security will send the 2024 COLA boost next January. So there are still two payments left before you can take advantage of the 3.2 percent increase in disability benefits, SSI, or retirement checks.
