SSDI is the Social Security Disability Insurance. These disability benefits allow workers to get money from the Administration if they have a qualifying disability and have paid enough payroll taxes.
If you did not qualify for the last SSDI check on January 3, you may be eligible for one of the next three payments. For your information, the previous disability benefit was for those on Social Security before May 1997.

The Social Security Administration has confirmed that there will be a new SSDI check on January 10, 2024. However, there are two requirements you must meet to be eligible.
JANUARY 10 SSDI PAYMENT ELIGIBILITY
In order to be eligible you must have filed for disability benefits, but not before May 1997. Apart from that, the Administration will take into account your birth date.
Since you can only get SSDI on January 10 if you meet the birthday requirement, let’s have a look at the possible dates. Actually, if your birthday is from the 1st to the 10th of the month, you may qualify.
For instance, if you filed after May 1997 or in that same month and your birth date is the 5th of any month, you will receive your SSDI payment in just 48 hours. So, as long as it is from 1-10, you can collect it on January 10, 2024.
If you are an SSDI beneficiary but your birthday is on a different date, there will be two more paydays left in January. In fact, they will be on January 17 or January 24. To get it on Jan. 17, your birth date must be from 11-20 or on Jan. 24 if it is from 21-31. Check the amounts below.
DISABILITY BENEFITS AMOUNTS FOR ALL THE JANUARY PAYMENTS
There are many different amounts since SSDI beneficiaries collect payments based on their previous earnings, work history, and filing date. In general, disability benefit amounts are lower because people with a disability did not have as much time to pay payroll taxes as other workers.
For example, retirees can receive an average payment worth $1,907 in 2024. A person on SSDI can get an average payment worth $1,537 in 2024. So, there is a considerable difference.
The largest SSDI benefit is $3,822 while the largest amount for retirees is $4,873 in 2024. Anyway, all Social Security beneficiaries have received 3.2% more from the last Cost of Living Adjustment increase.
A person who received $1,000 from SSDI in 2023 can get $1,032 in 2024. Those who qualified for $2,000 can receive $2,064 in 2024. Even if it is less money than in the last 2023 COLA, it is about $48 extra per month on average.
