The Social Security Administration makes sure that only eligible people receive SSDI checks. Before you can get any money from the Administration you must go through the application process.
Of course, you cannot be eligible unless you meet the strict definition of disability. Workers will also need to have a minimum of work credits to get disability monthly payments.
SSDI beneficiaries who filed for Social Security and got the approval can receive their checks on 4 different paydays during the month of November. However, there is only one left.
Who cannot collect SSDI from Social Security on November 22?
If you started receiving benefits before May 1997, you will not collect SSDI on November 22. If you collect Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income at the same time, you got your money on November 3, so not on the 22nd.
What is more, there are two more groups of seniors who will not receive any money from the Administration on November 22. As a matter of fact, this will depend on their birthday.
For example, if your birthday is from the first day of the month to the tenth, you will not cash a check on November 22. This is because you must have received your SSDI payment from Social Security on November 8.
The last group of people with disability who are on SSDI and will not get any money on the 22nd will be those whose birthday is from the 11th to the 20th. Remember that your payday was on November 15.
Who qualifies for the November 22 Social Security or SSDI payment?
If you filed for Social Security and received checks after or in May 1997 and your birthday is from the 21st to the 31st, this will be your SSDI check. As for the amounts, it will depend on your personal situation.
While the maximum amount is $3,627 in 2023, most SSDI recipients just get about $1,486 on average. If you cashed a payment in November, your next check will arrive in December.
December 1 will be payday for those on Supplemental Security Income. Some people with a disability may qualify for SSI even if they are on SSDI. The second Social Security check will arrive on December 3, but only for beneficiaries before May 1997.
The three remaining checks for SSDI will be on December 13, 20 and 27. Social Security will send the January SSI payment on December 29 and it will bring their new COLA.
