Payments are due on January 24 according to the Social Security schedule. In order to be eligible, you must have filed first. The date you began collecting disability or retirement checks must be after or in May 1997.
Those who filed and got benefits before that date do not qualify for the January 24 payments. In fact, they will not receive their next payment until February 2. The other February checks will arrive on February 14, 21 and 28.
If you have checked your bank account and you have not received any money yet, do not worry. Read the section below to see the reasons why payments may be late or missing.
JANUARY 24 PAYMENTS AND ELIGIBILITY
If you did not qualify for the first retirement and disability benefit payments in 2024 is because you started receiving benefits after April 31. So, the Social Security Administration will check your birth date.
Depending on when your birth date is, you may be eligible for the first, second, or third round of Wednesday payments. For example, if your birthday is from 1-10, your check was due on January 10.
Those whose birthday is from 11-20 got their payments on January 17. Therefore, if your birthday is none of the aforementioned, you will be eligible for this retirement or disability check.
Eligible beneficiaries must have started receiving benefits after or in May 1997 and have their birth dates from 21-31. As for the amounts, there are average and maximum amounts. But there could be as many different amounts as beneficiaries.
