USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) has confirmed the next SNAP payments in September. There are 50 States sending money to eligible recipients as well as Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia.

It will depend on the State or territory that you live in whether you can get a higher or lower payment. For example, Alaska will send the largest maximum SNAP amounts. Hawaii, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands will also send higher Food Stamp checks. Check now when your State will send money to reload your EBT card.

How Much SNAP Benefits Can You Get in the 48 Contiguous States?

According to the USDA Food and Nutrition Service memo on fiscal year 2024 cost-of-living adjustments for SNAP, the maximum monthly allotment for a family of four in the 48 contiguous states and Washington D.C. will be $973, effective October 1, 2023.

When can you receive SNAP benefits in Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and D.C.?

According to USDA’s payment schedule, SNAP recipients living there can get benefits on the following dates in September, 2024.

The maximum SNAP amount recipients in the 48 contiguous States can receive will be $1,751 if you are 8. An individual who qualifies for the maximum amount can get up to $291. A family of four up to $973. The new COLA will not increase benefits until October 1, 2024. Recipients in Hawaii will get a reduction in the maximum amounts.
