Free money is always welcome, but it is even better when you have a low income. If you live in Fresno County, California, you may have chances to get payments from a new basic income.
The thing is only 150 applicants can be chosen. However, if you are one of them, you will be able to get up to $6,000. So, this basic income will make a difference if you are on a shoestring budget now.
HOW MANY MONTHS WILL I RECEIVE THESE BASIC INCOME PAYMENTS FOR IF CHOSEN?
According to the Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission, this basic income program will send payments for up to 12 months. That is, you will get checks worth $500 for 1 whole year.
Bear in mind that to be able to apply for this Guaranteed Income Program, you must meet all the requirements. If you do not have a child who is up to 5 years old, you cannot apply.
Only families with children aged 5 or younger who live in Fresno and Huron can submit an application. Do not forget that you cannot apply for this basic income yet. Applications open on March 15.
INCOME REQUIREMENTS FOR FRESNO COUNTY’S GUARANTEED INCOME PROGRAM
For your information, eligible families in Fresno County and Huron must live in specific ZIP codes. If you do not live in these areas, you cannot apply for these monthly payments.
As for your income. applicants must earn less than 80% or up to 80% of the Area Median Income for their ZIP code. So, if you meet all the requirements you can apply from March 15.
Do not expect your first payment if chosen in spring. The Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission claims that the first basic income checks will be due in the summer.
