Many citizens are looking forward to receiving Summer EBT or SUN Bucks to supplement SNAP benefits. Now that schools may not have free meals in the area where you live, 120-dollar checks per eligible child will be sent to eligible families on Food Stamps. To qualify you must have a school-aged kid.

The best thing about SUN Bucks is the fact that many families may receive this money without applying. Getting 120-dollar per kid could be of great support, and if you are a family with 3 kids it could be $360 if eligible.

How to apply for SUN Bucks if you get SNAP

If you do not qualify for automatic enrolment, you can still apply for SUN Bucks or Summer EBT. USDA, through the Food and Nutrition Service’s website offers the possibility to do so.

All you have to do is visit https://www.fns.usda.gov/summer/sunbucks and then select the State where you live on the map. If you cannot find it on the map, you can look for it in the list of States offering SUN Bucks for SNAP recipients. It is just below the map.

Prepare all the necessary information before you start the application. In this way, you will save time. Bear in mind that some States do not participate in this program and others are planning to join. SNAP is available in all 50 States, but not Summer EBT.

Necessary information to apply for SUN Buck

USDA and the FNS will request your child or children’s name(s), date of birth, school, and current home address. Since SNAP and Summer EBT are for low-income families, you will need to report your household income.

Once you provide USDA and the FNS with your household income, you will not have to give your Social Security Number. Proof of citizenship will not be necessary either.

Actually, you do not have to be a U.S. citizen to apply for the SUN Bucks program. Whether you apply or receive SUN Bucks, it does not affect the immigration status of your family or children.
