Food Stamps: SNAP payments start on August 2-3 in these States

SNAP benefit changes coming in October

SNAP, also known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or Food Stamps has already started sending money to EBT cards in the United States. These payments can be from up to $291 for individuals to $1,751 for 8 who qualify for the maximum amount.

Three States are sending SNAP money from August 2. They are Delaware, Montana, and Ohio. The paydays will continue until August 23 (Delaware), August 6 (Montana), and August 20 (Ohio). Hawaii, Michigan, and North Carolina will send them from August 3.

SNAP payday eligibility in Delaware, Montana, and Ohio

Delaware uses the first letter of the recipient’s last name to arrange paydays. For example, if the first letter of your last name is “A” you will receive Food Stamps on August 2. If it is X, Y, and Z, you will get money on your EBT on August 23.

Montana uses the last digit of the SNAP eligibility system case number (CHIMES). For example, if you TEAMS case number ends in 0 or 1 your Food Stamps will be sent on August 2. The last payday will be for those whose number ends in 8 or 9.

Ohio uses the last digit of the beneficiary’s SNAP case number. So, if yours ends in 0, you get benefits on August 2, 2024. Paydays are on even number, that is, on the 2nd, the 4th, until the 20th. If your case number ends in 9, your benefits will be due on August 20.

SNAP payday eligibility in Hawaii, Michigan, and North Carolina

If you live in Hawaii, there will just be 2 paydays. So, you can either receive Food Stamps on August 3 or August 5. Payment amounts are much higher than in the 48 contiguous States. Last names starting with A – I will get money on August 3. The rest will receive SNAP on the 5th.

Michigan will be sending Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program payments through August 21st. Check the last digit of your ID if you are a beneficiary. If it ends in 0, benefits will be yours on August 3. Payments will be delivered on even days (3rd, 5th,7th, etc.).

North Carolina will also send SNAP benefits until August 21, 2024. For these eligible recipients, the SSN last number is what matters. So, if your SSN ends in 1, you get Food Stamps on August 3. There will be no paydays on even days.
