In just four days, millions of Americans on disability or retirement benefits will have a new direct deposit. The Social Security Administration has scheduled a payment for both retirees and people with a disability on March 13.
Do not forget that Social Security benefits are the main source of income for most people aged 65 or older. For your information, almost 9 out of 10 people aged 65 or older get Social Security as of December 2023.

Depending on when you filed for Social Security retirement or disability benefits, and your birth date, you can get your payments sooner or later in March 2024.
FULL PAYMENT LIST IF ON SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS IN MARCH
After the March 1 payment for pre-1997 recipients, there will be another payment on March 13. To get this check you must have your birthday from the first to the tenth of any month.
Other retirees and people on disability benefits can receive a new payment on March 20. In order to get your money on this payday your birthday must be from 11-20.
Recipients of Social Security benefits can also get retirement or disability checks on March 27. Of course, the birth date requirement is mandatory. If your birthday is from 21-31, this check will be yours.

SSDI AND RETIREMENT CHECKS
The largest SSDI check is worth $3,822 in 2024. However, very few disability beneficiaries can collect so much money per month. That check is for those who have earned the contribution and benefit base for many years, filed as a senior, and worked for 35 years.
The average disability benefit is worth about $1,537. Retirees can get an average payment worth $1,909. That is actually a lot more than those on disability checks.
The largest check for retirees is $4,873 in 2024, up from $4,555 in 2023. At Full Retirement Age, you can get up to $3,822 in 2024. If you file as early as you are allowed to, you can just get up to $2,710.
