The Social Security Administration sent the last SSDI and retirement payments on March 13. It is possible that some recipients have not collected their payments yet.
If you have not received your money yet, your bank may have had a problem to process your payment. Wait for three mailing days before you call the Administration to claim a missing payment or report it.
The next Social Security payment will be for eligible SSDI and retirement beneficiaries. Recipients on benefits before May 1997 will not get a check until April 3, so the upcoming payments in March are not for them.
PAYMENT DATES FOR SOCIAL SECURITY RECIPIENTS AFTER MARCH 14
As a matter of fact, the next two payments will be on March 20 and March 27. Both dates will be for retirees and people on Social Security Disability Insurance in the USA.
The Administration will only pay benefits to those recipients who meet the birthday requirement. Besides, they must have been on benefits after April 30, 1997.
- retirement payment on March 20: birth date from 11-20.
- retirement payment on March 27: birth date from 21-31.
- SSDI payment on March 20: birthday from 11-20.
- SSDI payment on March 27: birthday from 21-31.
MARCH 20-27 PAYMENT AMOUNTS
Regardless of the payment date, the maximum and average amounts are the same. However, SSDI recipients and retirement beneficiaries have different average and maximum benefit amounts.
- retirees average payment: $1,909.
- maximum benefits in retirement in 2024 at 70: $4,873.
- maximum benefits in retirement in 2024 at Full Retirement Age: $3,822.
- maximum benefits in retirement in 2024 at 62 $2,710.

Some SSDI recipients may qualify with fewer years of work. Maximum benefits are only for high-earners who file late and work for 35 years.
