The Government has announced that there will soon be millions of Social Security payments. Whether you are receiving SSDI or retirement benefits, you may collect your money in 4 days.
Do not forget that the Social Security Administration (SSA) stated that their next payment will be sent on December 20. Since some seniors and people on disability benefits got their money on December 1, they will not get any checks this time.
In order to qualify for this Social Security payment you must have filed after or in May 1997, but not before. What is more, your birthday will tell you when you can receive your check. The earlier in the month your birthday is, the earlier you will receive your check too.
WHO WILL RECEIVE $1,848 AND WHEN?
If you get an average retirement check, you will receive about $1,848. Social Security has announced that this is the average payment in 2023. However, this will be the last time you receive that amount. Thanks to the COLA boost, you will receive about 59 dollars more per month.
The Administration will send out payments to those seniors who did not start receiving benefits before May 1997. If that is your case, let’s have a look at the birthday requirement.
Those retirement beneficiaries whose birth date is from the 11 to the 20 will receive money from Social Security on December 20. Retirement checks can be worth up to $4,555 in 2023. In 2024, they can cash up to $4,873.
The last payday will be December 27, but only if your birthday is after the 20th. The maximum and average amounts are the same for the three paydays.
WHO WILL RECEIVE $1,489 FROM SOCIAL SECURITY AND WHEN?
If you are on disability benefits (Social Security Disability Insurance) and you get an average payment, this check may be yours on December 20. But only if your birthday is from 11-20.
Remember that paydays for retirees and people with a disability may be the same and follow the same filing date and birthdate requirements. So, these last 3 SSDI checks are arranged in the same way as retirement benefits. Amounts are different though.
The largest check a person on Social Security Disability Insurance can get is $3,626 in 2023 and $3,822 in 2024.
If your birthday is from the 21-31, then your disability benefit payment will be in your pocket on December 27. The new COLA will arrive in January for those on SSDI and retirement benefits. Only SSI recipients will cash 3.2% more on December 29, 2023.
