The United States Government has confirmed new checks and direct deposits. Thus, there will soon be millions of Social Security payments for retirees and disability recipients in May.
The first checks will be for those on benefits before May 1997. Luckily, this will not be the only group to collect money in early May. If you are on retirement or disability benefits and Supplemental Security Income, you will also have the same payday.
WHO WILL RECEIVE $1,913 FROM SOCIAL SECURITY AND WHEN?
If you have been on retirement benefits before May 1997 or get SSI and SS at the same time, May 3 will be your next payment date. the amount of your payment will depend on your work, earnings, and filing background.
However, if you qualify for an average Social Security check, you will get $1,913. That is the new average retirement payment as of March 2024, released by SSA in April.
Other retirees will get money from Social Security on May 8, 15 and 22. They may also qualify for an average payment worth $1,913. Payments on the 8th will be for those whose birthdays are from 1-10. If it is on the 15th, from 11 to 20. The last one is for those whose birth date is from 21-31.
WHO WILL RECEIVE $1,537 FROM SOCIAL SECURITY AND WHEN?
Social Security will send average payments of about $1,537 for disability recipients in the United States. Paydays will be on May 3, May 8, May 15 and May 22.
Just like for retirement benefits, Social Security will send direct deposits on May 3 if you are on SSDI benefits before May 1997. Getting SSI and SSDI at the same time qualifies recipients for the May 3 check as well.
Birthdays will be necessary to set payments on May 8, 15 and 22. Social Security will send SSDI payments first if your birthday is from 1-10. Then, On May 15, if it is from 11-20. The last SSDI payment will be due on May 22 if your birth date is from 21-31.
