The Supplemental Security Income program will send the next SSI payment on November 1. This is the usual payday for these recipients, who have no other payday during the month. That is, all recipients collect their SSI payment on the very same day.
Social Security retirement benefits are sent on 4 different paydays instead. For example, some can get it on the third, while others on the second, third, or fourth Wednesday of the month. However, there can be changes, and checks and direct deposits are sent in advance.
Important Social Security change affecting some SSI recipients positively
While the SSI payment will be due on November 1, as usual, the Social Security payment for November 3 will be sent in advance. That is, it will be sent ahead of schedule.
So, those who usually receive their Social Security payment on the third will not have to wait that long. SSA has scheduled the November payday for those who:
- are on Supplemental Security Income benefits and retirement or SSDI benefits simultaneously
- started receiving benefits before May 1997
And it will also be sent on November 1. So retirees and SSDI recipients will receive their November 3 payment on November 1 instead. This will be great for some SSI recipients.
Why will this be positive for some SSI recipients?
Sending SSI and Social Security on the same payday, November 1, will be awesome because some will get all the money on the same day. In this case, we are referring to those citizens who are collecting both Supplemental Security Income and Social Security at the same time.
In this way, you can get rid of any debt or loan you may need to pay quickly. It will be much better because you can decide what to buy or what to spend the money on from the first day.
What is more, SSI recipients may see their payment amounts increase slightly due to some rules that started to change in October. The 2025 COLA will not be sent until December 31, 2024, though.
