For your information, SSDI disability benefits are only for those who remain eligible. Therefore, you must continue meeting the strict definition of disability set by the Social Security Administration.
Of course, of the three remaining SSDI payments in May you can only qualify for one of them. So, let’s have a look at the possible payment dates and the average and maximum amounts.
SSDI PAYMENT DUE IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS
The Social Security Administration has announced that there will be a new Disability Insurance payment on May 8. That implies that eligible disability benefit recipients will get money in just hours.
Do not forget that to get this money you must also meet the birth date requirement. If your birthday is not during the first ten days of the month, you will have to wait longer to receive your SSDI payment. If you began getting benefits before May 1997, you will get it on June 3 because May 3 was your last check.
So, if your birthday is from 1-10, your disability benefits will be in your bank account on May 8. If it is from 11-20, you will receive money on May 15. The last opportunity to get SSDI will be on May 22, but only if your birthday is from 21-31.
SSDI AVERAGE PAYMENTS ON MAY 8, 15 & 22
The average Social Security Disability Insurance is worth $1,537 as of March 2024. That does not mean you could receive a higher or much lower payment. Some workers did not have enough time to work due to their disability.
As a result, their disability benefits are much lower. However, it is possible that if you get one of the last 3 SSDI payments, your checks are average or higher. This is because the lowest incomes may receive SSI at the same time and they got money on May 3.
The maximum SSDI amount is worth $3,822. Nevertheless, that is only for high earners who filed late and earned the taxable maximum for 35 years. Children and spouses on workers on disability insurance may also qualify for payments.
