In addition to being an avid mansion collector, Jeff Bezos has also shown a great affinity for private jets, amassing a small fleet of three aircraft. Recently, the billionaire founder of Amazon has upgraded one of his jets with the acquisition of a Gulfstream G700, the most advanced private airplane on the market.
According to information shared on the X profile of Jack Sweeney, the university student known for tracking the private jets of Elon Musk and Taylor Swift using public flight data, Bezos took delivery of his new jet on July 10, 2024. Just in time for a summer vacation, and he certainly made the most of it.
The Gulfstream G700, valued at around 80 million dollars, is one of the flagships of the company for private transportation. Bezos was among the first to receive this prestigious aircraft, adding another remarkable asset to his impressive collection.
The Gulfstream G700 has been officially certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as of March 2024. This certification followed nine months of rigorous processing, allowing the aircraft to be delivered and used for passenger services. Qatar Airways was the first to receive two units of the G700 for its Qatar Executive service. Notably, Elon Musk, who has also ordered one, has yet to collect his unit.

Bezos’ G700 Spotted in Ibiza
As reported by Business Insider, despite efforts to stay under the radar by utilizing the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Privacy ICAO Aircraft Address (PIA) program through a temporary registration, Bezos’ G700 was spotted in Ibiza last weekend. At the same time, local media in Ibiza reported sightings of Bezos’ spectacular sailing yacht, Koru, cruising the waters around the island.
Environmental Impact: 39 Days and 28 Flights
What’s most striking about Jeff Bezos’ new private jet isn’t its price or the luxurious features onboard. Over a span of 39 days, the plane has already completed 28 flights, drawing attention to its environmental footprint.
While the world marvels at the opulence of the G700, it’s crucial to consider the broader implications of such extravagant modes of travel, especially regarding sustainability and carbon emissions.
