After the June 12 payment, Social Security will send 2 more checks or direct deposits to retirees in the United States. However, if you are on retirement benefits and you have not gotten your money yet, you can only qualify for one of them.
If you receive your retirement benefit payment on June 18, you will not be the last group of retirees to receive Social Security in June. These last two paydays are for those who began getting money from SSA after April 30, 1997, and were born on specific days.
Who will get the last payment from Social Security in June?
The last group of retirees to qualify for retirement benefits will be those who were born from the 21st to the 31st. If you have never filed for retirement benefits, you must do so before you can receive them and wait for SSA’s approval.
If you are on Social Security Disability Insurance and meet the same requirements as the previous group of retirees, you will also get a payment on June 26, 2024.
Those on retirement benefits before May 1997 will get a new payment on July 3 since they have already received their money in June. If you are on SSI and SSDI, you do not qualify for the June 26 payment, July 3 will be your payday.
How can retirees receive $4,873 from Social Security on June 26?
It is not an easy achievement to get $4,873 from the Social Security Administration in June. Filing at the age of 70 is mandatory, or else, you will get a reduction.
For example, if you file at Full Retirement Age instead, you can get up to $3,822 and $2,710 at 62. What is more, recipients must have earned the taxable maximum for 35 years.
If you have not worked for so long, expect a much lower payment from the Administration. Only those workers who had jobs covered by SSA can qualify.
