Some retirees are about to receive their last Social Security payment in November. However, others are eligible for the last payday this month. If you are receiving retirement benefits, but you do not qualify for a check or direct deposit on November 1, 13, or 20, the fourth Wednesday will be your next payment date.
So, the Social Security Administration’s payment schedule has unveiled that November 27 will be the last day to get retirement benefits. In fact, it will be 2 days right before Black Friday. This is great news if you are looking for a shopping spree on Friday, November 29.
Who can receive Social Security 2 days before Black Friday?
This fourth monthly payment will only be for retirees who:
- do not qualify or are not receiving SSI benefits
- started collecting monthly payments as retirees after April 30, 1997
- were born after the 20th, regardless of the month (21-31)
For your information, this will be the last retirement payment in November. Nevertheless, Social Security had to re-schedule the December 1, SSI payment. Thus, all SSI recipients will get their checks or direct deposit on November 29, 2 days after retirees get their money.
Luckily, those who need the money from SSI to take advantage of the sales, offers, and discounts on Black Friday, will receive it on Friday, November 29.
Do you qualify for a Social Security of $1,924?
The November 27 payment date will bring checks of up to $4,873. However, the average amount will just be $1,924. Of course, this is just an idea of what a payment could be like.
Many retirees will receive a much lower payment. If you have already received the Social Security payment on November 1, your next payday will be December 3, 2024.
The average $1,924 Social Security payments do not include the 2025 COLA increase. Retirees will receive it on January 3, 8, 15 or 22. Only SSI recipients get it in 2024. The SSI payday for January 2025 will be issued on December 31, 2024.
