One of the great advantages offered by the Social Security system in the United States is the ease of knowing on what day the Administration will send each of the payments to retirees. Each month we can follow the payment schedule and look at the requirements for each of the checks. Just meeting a few requirements will be enough to be able to collect the payment on one day or another.
However, some payment days do not have two requirements, but only one. But for most Social Security payment days during the month there are usually two requirements to be on the eligibility list. Even so, we must always check all the requirements very well if we do not want to make a mistake in determining which is our payment day.
Also, in this same week we came across a new payment for Social Security retirees. This new payment is only for a specific group, so not all retirees will be able to collect the new check of $1,888 on average. Still, remember that the type of retirement has nothing to do with the payday.
Each payment day has as its requirements two pieces of information related to the beneficiary’s personal information. On the one hand, the year of retirement is key. On the other hand, the day of birth is also key.
But it does not matter the year or the month of birth, but only the day as such. These two pieces of information are what make us collect Social Security on one day or another. But the type of retirement is not important in determining when we collect our benefit.
WHO WILL COLLECT THE NEW SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT?
In order to determine whether we are on the eligibility list or not, we must take into account several elements. Two requirements must be met in order to get the money in just a few hours. The collection day will be October 18th and it is the third day in which the Administration sends Social Security payments for retirement or disability.
The requirements are very clear and we must check them well so as not to make mistakes. The first of these requirements is to have a retirement or disability benefit since after 1997. This year is key to determine the date of the monthly payment. Any retiree prior to that year will get the payment on a different day.
In addition to that, it is also mandatory to have the birthday between the 11th and 20th of the month. It is not necessary to have a birthday in October to get the October payment. Just having a birthday between the 11th and 20th of the month is more than enough. So by fulfilling these two requirements we will have access to the payment on the 18th of the month.
HOW TO GET RETIREMENT CHECKS FASTER?
There is a way to get your Social Security checks quickly and directly. In this sense, the cashing method is key to determine the exact day we will get the money. There are two ways to cash your retirement checks.
The first of these methods is through a classic deposit in a bank account. This method is efficient, but it is not fast. If we cash the check this way we will find that it can take up to 3 days for the money to reach our bank account. Although it does not seem like a long time, when we have a weekend very close the wait can stretch a little.
Therefore, the fastest and most efficient method is Direct Deposit. By using this collection method we can get our Social Security check directly and without having to wait a single day. As soon as the Administration sends the money we will have it in our pocket.
