Millions of Americans living in the United States or abroad will be able to cash a new Social Security check in just a few days. This check will go into the pockets of citizens who meet the eligibility criteria.
If they are on the list of Social Security beneficiaries, they will just have to wait to get a check. Otherwise, there is nothing to worry about, since the check will arrive in the same way. What we do have to keep in mind is that we get a check every month regardless of the day we receive it.
Therefore, knowing the Social Security payment schedule is really important. This will help us not only to get the checks directly, but also to organize the family economy.
Those retirees who meet the requirements are going to be able to enjoy their monthly check of $1,888 on average. Some beneficiaries will receive a larger payment and some beneficiaries will receive a smaller payment, but what really matters is being able to get their check on time. Do you know when you will get your new check?
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE NEW SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT
The requirements for getting each new Social Security check are the same every month. In total, the Administration sends out payments on 4 different days. On each of these days, beneficiaries can get their payment.
Each retiree gets only one payment per month. It is not possible to cash two retirement checks in the same month, although there may be some exceptions. The situation is different when we receive Supplemental Security Income, since in this case we do get two checks per month, but from two different benefits.
In short, the payment of this benefit on October 11th will be for the second group to receive Social Security. This group is composed of beneficiaries who meet the following requirements:
- Have their birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- Have applied for Social Security benefits since after 1997.
In this case, the beneficiaries on this list will get the payment next week. However, they will only have immediate access to the check if they activate Direct Deposit. Without this collection method, it will take about 3 days for the Social Security money to become available.
