New SSDI payment date for August if you are also on SSI

The Social Security Administration has announced when the new SSDI payment dates will take place in August for those who also receive SSI

New SSDI payment date in August

New SSDI payment date in August

SSI and SSDI payments may not always be on the same date. More often than not, Supplemental Security Income is due on the first day of the month. In fact, it will arrive on August 1.

Therefore, SSI payments will have no changes in August. Social Security Disability Insurance will not arrive on August 3 but payments will not be delayed. In fact, they are due in advance.

SSDI is not due on August 3, but on August 2

Disability Insurance will be due on August 2, August 14, 21 and 28. Therefore, the usual payment on the third will be sent 1 day ahead of schedule. This is because August 3 will not be a business day.

Social Security always sends direct deposits and checks on weekdays, unless they are a holiday. Since the previous business day is August 2, it will be the next SSDI payment for those who got benefits on July 3.

Bear in mind that to qualify for SSDI on Ausgut 2 you must have been on benefits before May 1997 or get SSI at the same time. If not, you will have to wait for the Wednesday rounds of direct deposits and checks.

SSDI amounts for August 2, 2024

If you qualify for SSDI you could receive an average payment worth $1,537. Some workers may get less money though because they may have filed at a young age, have not worked for at least 35 years, or have not paid taxes to SSA for many years.

Those American workers who have had time to work for 35 years, earned the taxable maximum for all those years and filed as late as possible could get up to $3,822. It is unlikely though.

Some SSDI recipients can also get SSI on August 1, so they could get about $697 on average from the Supplemental Security Income. For now, this will be the only payment date change until November 2024.
