The first Social Security Disability Insurance benefit payments were issued on November 1, 2024. Here you will find out the SSDI payment dates that the Agency has set for November. What is more, you will see the maximum benefit payment amounts for these disability benefits and average amounts. Check if you are eligible for this money from the Administration.
Once you have applied for SSDI and gotten approval, you can get these disability benefit payments on November 1, 13, 20 or 27. Since the Nov. 1 was for those on both Social Security and SSDI, or for those who began receiving benefits before May 1997, let’s see who qualifies for each Wednesday payment.
Who is eligible for the Nov. 13, 20, or 27 SSDI payment?
SSDI will be sent on November 13 if you:
- have your birthday on: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10
- do not receive SSI (Supplemental Security Income) benefits
- began receiving Social Security Disability Insurance after April 30, 1997
- remain eligible
Social Security Disability Insurance will be sent on November 20 if you:
- have your birthday from the11th to the 20th
- do not receive SSI (Supplemental Security Income) benefits
- started collecting Social Security Disability Insurance after April 30, 1997
- have not lost eligibility (e.g. you began working and earnings exceed the limit)
Social Security Disability Insurance will be sent on November 27 if you:
- have your birthday from the 21st to the 31st
- do not receive SSI (Supplemental Security Income) benefit payments
- started getting Social Security Disability Insurance after April 30, 1997
- still qualify
Average and maximum SSDI benefit payments in November
If you have a qualifying disability that has prevented you from working for over a year and have earned enough work credits, you may receive these disability benefits of up to $3,822.
However, filing and approval is mandatory. To get such a large payment you must have worked for 35 years at least. This is extremely difficult because a disability can prevent you from working in your 20s or even sooner.
What is more, you must have earned the taxable maximum for 35 years too. Incredibly challenging, no need to say. Filing as late as Social Security allows is not possible on many occasions due to a disability. That is why average SSDI payments are just about $1,539 according to SSA‘s Monthly Statistical Snapshot for September.
