SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME PAYMENT DATES
The Social Security Administration has scheduled this payment for December 29, 2023. Therefore, it will be in your bank account 3 days before New Year. SSA never sends out money on holidays.
In fact, this is the best way to make sure everyone gets their SSI checks on time. Imagine you did not receive your money on a holiday or the weekend. If banks are not open, you cannot contact them.
As the January SSI payment is on December 29, make sure you spend your money wisely. After the December 29 check, there will not be another one until February 1, 2024.
The months of March, April, and May will have their checks on the first day of the month too. However, the SSI check for June will be due on May 31. This is because June 1 is Saturday, so it will be sent on the previous business day.
SSI MAXIMUM AMOUNTS FOR 2024 AND THE DECEMBER 29 PAYMENT
Beneficiaries can get up to $943 in their 2024 payments. So, their December check will also have this maximum amount. Nevertheless, SSI average payments are lower.
Hence, you may not get as much as that. SSI average payments are about $673 as of November 2023. If you are 65 years old or older, it could be even lower, about $552.97 said Social Security.
The group of under-18-year-olds gets the largest SSI average payments. SSA claimed that they get about $785.28. Those who are 18-64 get average checks worth $718.33. Married couples can collect SSI payments of up to $1,415, up from $1,371 in 2023.
