Millions of Americans wonder whether they should buy a new car or a used car. If you have already made up your mind, or you are still thinking about the pros and cons of pre-owned cars or brand-new cars. According to Consumer Reports (CR), the top three of the most reliable new cars are Lexus, Toyota, and Mini.
Bear in mind that this is the predicted reliability of the CR report, and the top brands are not flawless. Any vehicle can break down due to a mechanical problem or a factory defect. Still, Lexus, Toyota, and Mini have proven to be really reliable.
What is the score of the most reliable new cars?
Lexus is the most reliable brand with a whopping score of 79 out of 100. Among the Lexus models are: ES, ES Hybrid, NX, NX Hybrid, RX, RX Hybrid, and UX. Check what it model has to offer and then compare it to the other similar models Toyota and Mini have.
Toyota has reached the number 2 with a fantastic score, 76. Therefore, it is just 3 points below Lexus. Since there is not a considerable difference, many customers may decide depending on their budget.
Both companies, Lexus and Toyota, offer great quality and reliability so you will need to take into account other factors like fuel efficiency, comfortability, power and performance, size, safety features, and so on.
Mini, Acura, and Honda among the best new cars
Mini does not have such a high score as Lexus. While Lexus has 79, Mini has barely 71. That is 8 points lower so that is quite a lot when it comes to reliability. Still, it is quite good.
Acura is number 4 and it has been given 70 points out of 100. Then Honda has been awarded the 5th position and the score is the same, 70. After that goes Subaru, with a very similar reliability 69 points. For more details compare these brands on CR’s official site. Learn more about insurance here.
