November comes and it is full of Social Security payments: check the full list

As the new month approaches it is time to know the upcoming paydays that the Social Security Administration has confirmed

Social Security and the new payments in November

November will have a total of five different payments for Social Security beneficiaries. Although you are on retirement benefits, not everyone cashes checks on the same day and amounts will not be the same for all recipients either.

Even if Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries are the beneficiaries that get the smallest check from Social Security, they can still cash up to $1,371 for couples.

In fact, they are the first ones to receive their SSI payment. Social Security will send checks of up to $914 to eligible individuals on November 1, 2023. So, this is their next payment after the September 29 check.

WHO ELSE CAN COLLECT THE NOVEMBER 1 PAYMENT FROM SOCIAL SECURITY?

Apart from eligible individuals and couples who have applied and got their applications accepted, there are two more possibilities. Some children with a qualifying disability may also receive SSI.

Also, essential persons may cash payments of up to $458 from SSI. Social Security has announced the new SSI amounts, but beneficiaries will not get the new 2024 COLA increase until December 29.

After the November 1 payment, there will be another one on November 3. There are two groups of beneficiaries on this same payday. The first one is for those who have been longer on Social Security.

So, to cash it you must have collected retirement or SSDI benefits before May 1997. Another possibility is to receive both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income. Therefore, those who get SSI and retirement, or SSDI, are the first two to get their money.

WHO CAN COLLECT ONE OF THE THREE WEDNESDAY PAYMENTS FROM SOCIAL SECURITY?

The Social Security Administration will then pay those who started to receive benefits in May 1997 or later. What is more, they will get the money they are entitled to depending on their birth date.

When it comes to retirement benefits amounts, regardless of the day you cash them, there is a maximum amount. Currently, you can receive a payment of up to $4,555 in 2023.

Thanks to the new 3.2% COLA increase you will receive additional money, but on your January payment. The average payment is of about $1,841 as of September 2023 said SSA.

If you have SSDI payment, the average check is a bit lower than $1,500. Thus, you need to look for alternatives to bring home some more cash. Applying for SNAP benefits or SSI are two of them. WIC is another possibility if you are a woman with children under the age of 5.
