When it comes to numismatics, currency collectors can freely decide how much they want to pay for a particular purchase. Professional Coin Grading Services, which is a division of Collectors Universe, Inc., unveiled the million-dollar coin club.

That is, the most valuable dollars, which are collectible, in the United States. The Professional Coin Grading Services, from now on PCGS, claims that there are 11 U.S. dollars with a value of at least 4,500,000 or more. What is more, all of them are privately held.

Which coin is at the top of the list?

Apparently, it is the absolutely stunning “1907 Indian Head $20 gold pattern, PR69 (PCGS estimated grade) – $15,000,000.” The mint was in Philadelphia and its designer was Augustus Saint Gaudens.

If you have never seen this coin, it is made of gold. Moving on to the portrait, the obverse features a left-facing bust of Lady Liberty, depicted in a striking Native American-style feathered headdress. This portrayal of Liberty was a significant departure from earlier designs, embodying a distinctly American character.

Surrounding the portrait are 13 stars, symbolizing the original 13 American colonies. The reverse showcases a majestic bald eagle in flight. The year “MCMVII” (1907) is inscribed in Roman numerals beneath the eagle, which is a distinguishing feature of this pattern $20 dollar masterpiece.
